Crossfit was originally developed in the early 1980s by Greg Glassman, a former gymnast and gymnastics coach. It is a performance-based workout program focusing on function (using movements that are grounded in life and/or sports), intensity (emphasizing the importance of pushing yourself to your daily limits), and variety (unpredictable workouts- we train for the unknown and the unknowable). There are 3 basic types of exercise in Crossfit: weightlifting (both basic and Olympic lifts); cardiovascular (running, rowing, box jumps, etc.); and gymnastic (bodyweight exercises like pullups, pushups, muscleups, etc.).
Workouts tend to be brief in duration (average 20 minutes), but are incredibly challenging. We guarantee we can smoke you in less than 10 minutes, regardless of whether you are an Olympic athlete or haven't worked out in months. Don't believe us?
Put your ego on the line and come to a class- we have 19/week in Long Beach and 6/week in Tustin. If we fail to challenge you, we'll do 50 burpees.
